Hope At Hand UK launched early this year. We aim to urge the government to improve continuity of care for students experiencing mental health difficulties in the UK. Whilst we’re doing this we aim to raise awareness of mental health and to increase understanding in the hope of reducing stigma around such a sensitive topic.

Our Journey So Far
  • We’ve created a blog to share people’s experiences of living with different mental health conditions
  • Published our website with national helplines and information about us and how to get involved
  • We have a gallery of positive quotes which are usually posted on our Facebook 4 days a week
  • We’ve been in touch with local MPs in the hope of promoting our work, and also have an interview coming up with Mr Norman Lamb
Where We’re At Now

Yesterday was a big day for us at HopeAtHand

  • We had our first meeting with MindOurMinds – another group of uK campaigners pushing for improvements to the mental health system – and will soon be working in partnership with them
  • Our survey was launched to help us conduct independent research into students and the services available to them regarding mental health
  • We’ve posted our first youtube video in the hope of reaching out to a larger audience
What’s Next?
  • Our  focus is going to return to our roots. We were initially set up as a student focussed campaign group, so watch out for more student focussed blogs, experiences, and tips to survive studies/summer
  • We will be back to promoting our petition to urge the government to take action for student mental health
  • We’ll be creating resources to promote mental wellbeing to send out to places of study to use in the next academic year
  • Our helplines page focus will be widened to allow students to find places of support and information in their local area
